Kelly Clarkson "Walk Away'" Rapidshare Music Video MV|뮤직 비디오|동영상|試聴 視聴 mp3 PV 動画 映画 歌詞

MTV TakeAway Rating - rating

The Bottom Line

One of the most impressive things about "Walk Away," the new single from Kelly Clarkson, is that this is the 5th single from her smash album Breakaway. By this time, typically, the artist is beginning to scrape the bottom of the barrel to wrestle one last hit. This single is one of the best songs from the album.

Pros
  • Kelly Clarkson rocks again
  • Classic pop-rock style
  • Illustrates her versatility
Cons
  • Difficult to find a real negative here

Description

  • Throbbing bass
  • Anthemic chorus
  • A vocal request to demonstrate commitment by action not just words

Guide Review - Kelly Clarkson - Walk Away (RCA)

After spawning 4 major top 10 singles ("Breakaway," "Since U Been Gone," "Behind These Hazel Eyes," and "Because of You") and spending 60 weeks in the top 20 of the pop albums chart, you might expect the album Breakaway to be running out of steam, but then along comes the 5th single "Walk Away." It is a pop-rock anthem that may not quite reach the status of "Since U Been Gone" but rivals any of the album's other singles in quality.

"Walk Away" is one of 5 collaborations with studio MVP Kara DioGuardi from the album and the first to be released as a single. DioGuardi has become one of the most sought after songwriter/producers playing key roles on hits from Ashlee Simpson's "Pieces of Me" to Lindsay Lohan's "Confessions of a Broken Heart." For additional insurance Canadian couple Chantal Kreviazuk and Raine Maida, frequent Avril Lavigne collaborators, assisted on "Walk Away."

Kelly Clarkson is arguably the most talented vocalist and song interpreter DioGuardi has worked with, and she drives home the song's insistence on romantic commitment with grit and style. Clarkson has said "Walk Away" is her Annie Lennox-type song, and her singing here does bear some resemblance to Lennox' gut-bucket approach to rock-oriented songs, particularly in a nearly a capella passage just past the song's midpoint. Look for this single to be in the pop top 10 soon.

Kelly Clarkson "Never Again" Rapidshare Music Video MV|뮤직 비디오|동영상|試聴 視聴 mp3 PV 動画 映画 歌詞

K elly’s album is set to be one of the most interesting of the year. She’s defied her record company and shunned the Since U Been Gone hitmakers (who’ve since worked with Pink and Avril) to steer her own sound. This first single mixes Pat Benatar-style 1980s pop/rock with Alanis-style angst (the lyrics are a dumbed-down You Oughta Know). It’s low on hooks and melodies; the previously unheard sound of an Idol risking it all in the name of not compromising.

3/5 stars
Never Again

SKYBOMBERS
The retro wheel continues to turn down south with these Melbourne rockers the buzz du jour in LA and their hometown, having just signed to seminal label Alberts here (home of AC/DC, Beasts Of Bourbon, Dallas Crane). The debut EP opens with lead track, It Goes Off, which has been scoring US radio airplay and reveals a strong melodic sense with classic rock riffs. The production is pretty muddy but you get the general idea that these guys have a few strong tunes.

Daughtry "Home" Rapidshare Music Video MV|뮤직 비디오|동영상|試聴 視聴 mp3 PV 動画 映画 歌詞

This song gives me chills every time I hear it (which is pretty often, cause i have the Daughtry album on "repeat all" in the CD player of my truck)...it's about coming back home to what is comfortable, rather than what is unfamiliar...I love this song, and I love this album...there is not a single bad song...no, there isnt even a single mediocre song on this album...although I wasn't impressed by Chris's performance on Jimmy Kimmel the other night...still, this album is NUTS...unbelieveably amazing.

Kelly Clarkson “Because of you” Rapidshare Music Video MV|뮤직 비디오|동영상|試聴 視聴 mp3 PV 動画 映画 歌詞

If you listen to the average indie kid then shows like the X Factor are killing music. The pop puppets that they produce are no better than the karaoke acts at a Butlin's talent show. Kelly Clarkson, along with Will Young and Girls Aloud, kicks a platinum record-sized hole in that argument.

All that pop reality TV does is draw back the curtain on the training and manipulation that takes place before an artist is released on the public. This has always been the case - it's just that these acts are forced to grow up in public. No amount of Pygmalion-styled direction can prolong a career beyond the first few singles if there is no real talent. A life of cruise ships and working men's clubs awaits those who somehow conned their way into the final stages of Pop Idol or the X Factor.

Kelly Clarkson was the winner of the very first series of American Idol and she has an advantage - she is undoubtedly talented. Firstly, there is her voice; here it's full of vulnerability, ache and wounded pride. It soars, it purrs. It carries a bruised sense of real emotion. Secondly, there is the co-credit on this single; the lyrics deal with an unnamed significant other who has twisted and damaged her psyche. When she sings; "I lose my way, and it's not too long before you point it out / I cannot cry, because I know that's weakness in your eyes," the pure hurt in her voice is heartbreaking. This is potent stuff, the piano arrangement reminiscent of Tori Amos in her most emotional naked state. A cut above Rik Waller, then.

Carrie Underwood "Wasted" Rapidshare Music Video MV/試聴 視聴 mp3 PV 動画 映画 歌詞/뮤직 비디오/동영상

The fourth official country single from the mega-selling Some Hearts is also the album-opener, and it’s a strongly written declaration that life must have a purpose, or it will have been wasted. An interesting contrast between a woman leaving a relationship and a man recovering from alcoholism, my only minor criticism is that it’s a little sluggishly paced. Her vocal intensity deserved a less anemic production. Don’t they realize they’re backing up a superstar about to happen? Grade: A-

Elliott Yamin "Wait For You" Rapidshare Music Video MV/試聴 視聴 mp3 PV 動画 映画 歌詞/뮤직 비디오/동영상

Rating - rating

The Bottom Line

Despite the somewhat lifeless Stargate production, Elliott Yamin's first post-American Idol hit single goes down with mellow smoothness. Unlike 2006's victor Taylor Hicks, Yamin sounds completely contemporary sliding nicely into today's pop radio playlists. It's a great start for Elliott.

Pros
  • Smooth, velvet voice
  • Melody that goes down easy
Cons
  • Cookie cutter Stargate production

Description

  • Pensive piano intro
  • Lyrics of romantic regret
  • Mellow, pleasing vocals

Guide Review - Elliott Yamin - Wait for You

Elliott Yamin fans got an initial false alarm with the promo release of the song "Movin' On." Although "Movin' On" is a solid performance, "Wait for You" was wisely selected to take the earlier song's place as the official first single release from the album Elliott Yamin. The smooth, mellow r&b ballad sound is a perfect fit with other contemporary pop hits.

Stargate, the producers of "Wait for You," are among the hottest in the music business. They are responsible for such recent smashes as Beyonce's "Irreplaceable," Rihanna's "Unfaithful," and Ne-Yo's "So Sick." Unfortunately, in their slickly professional hands, Elliott Yamin's vocals sound a bit mass-produced. This lack of distinctiveness could be in part due to Yamin's inexperience. He is still feeling around for a unique sound.

Elliott Yamin, as the true cinderella story of American Idol's 2006 season, is almost universally loved by fans of the show. He has delivered a strong first album to these supporters, and "Wait for You" will be a fine beginning on the pop charts. With more maturity and experience behind him, he may yet be a vocalist worthy of mention in the same breath with his personal idol Donny Hathaway.

Carrie Underwood “Before He Cheats” Rapidshare Music Video MV|뮤직 비디오|동영상|試聴 視聴 mp3 PV 動画 映画 歌詞

The country girl couldn't take down Madonna, but it looks like she may be taking down Kelly Clarkson very soon. The original American Idol's debut album stalled at 2.5 million in the U.S., and her subsequent singles after Miss Independent failed to make an indention on radio. Of course, now she's a mega-success with the explosion that was her sophomore album Breakaway, but it looks like Carrie Underwood's first album Some Hearts has not only surpassed Clarkson's first effort, but could be approaching the status of her second.

Carrie just released her highly anticipated third video off this album for the killer single "Before He Cheats," and the fans are buzzing — this shit is off the chain. You can hear the sass and growl in Underwood's voice as she quite frankly tells her man off for cheating on her, especially with some "bleach blonde tramp" singing a "white trash version of Shania karaoke." She bashes a nice, shiny red car up like it's Simon Cowell's face and attitude oozes from the screen as she makes a sassy little walk down the street holding a Louisville Slugger.

Even from just hearing the song, you know Carrie's not playing. In a deep, sexy but gritty dull roar she sings "Right now, he's probably buying her some fruity little drink 'cause she can't shoot whiskey. Right now, he's probably up behind her with a pool stick showin' her how to shoot a combo. But he don't know, I dug my key into the side of his pretty little suped up four wheel drive. Carved my name into his leather seats. Took a Louisville Slugger to both headlights. Slashed a hole in all four tires. Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats."

Well damn. I would think too after hearing that. After beating the daylights out of the car, Carrie throws down her bat and starts strutting towards her man who is in no way hiding his cheap love affair with Ms. Peroxide. "Right now, she's probably sayin' 'I'm drunk', and he's a thinking that he's gonna get lucky." Carrie says while she pulls off her jacket and starts scouring the crowd like an angry lioness on the hunt, throwing people left and right in search of the cheater and the other woman, who are distastefully making out up against a brick wall while he caresses her torn up, too short jean skirt.

And here comes the moment — Carrie just caught his ass. She first looks mildly shocked at the audacity of these two low-class lovebirds, but almost immediately then shoots him a look of "Oh no you didn't, boyfriend", and his ego deflates to the size of a prune as he wallows in just getting caught by the Queen Bitch.

Carrie throws his car keys into the drink sitting on a table and stomps off like the diva she is, while cheater-cheater, pumpkin-eater pushes wannabe Natalie Maines off of him like a fat girl avoids a stalk of celery.

Now comes one of the best parts of the video. Carrie thumps her way down the street — gale forced winds plowing past her as lights fizzle, break, and burst while glass windows shatter and she stops to throw her arms up in the air for a final hurrah. She slings her head back with her arms still up and yells "Maybe next time he'll think before her cheats!" while a male harmony coos behind her "Na na na na na na na na na" and loud drums bang away, leading us to the end of the song. But not before one last looked at the busted up four wheel drive.

The second I heard this song when I bought Carrie’s CD last year, I knew it would make her a superstar. The album’s already sold 3.3 million… more than Kelly Clarkson’s debut, and that’s without a top 10 hit on the Hot 100 (which Kelly actually had – ”Miss Independent”), and when this song blows up at radio (which it will) Carrie Underwood will be Miss Independent from American Idol. She’ll no longer need to rest on her talent competition laurels to propel her career, the success of her music will do it for her.

I’ve anticipated this video for so long, and let me tell you, Carrie tore that shit up! I’m sorry Beyonce, that "Ring The Alarm" bull is whack. Carrie Underwood takes the crown for best angry video of 2006.
