Britney Spears' notorious (VMA)MTV Video Music Awards appearance Hot&sexy
Viacom has been hard at work getting Google to pull copies of Britney Spears' notorious MTV Video Music Awards appearance from YouTube, according to Salon's Farhad Manjoo, forcing people who want to replay the trainwreck to visit MTV.com's version. MTV's Buzzworthy blog introduces the performance thusly:
"Britney's back, biatches! That's right, and you saw it right here with your very own peepers when she strutted her stuff (almost in slo-mo) onstage at the VMAs. She opened the show with her new song, 'Gimme More,' while showing off a healthy bod in a bedazzled bikini. Aw yeah! We knew our girl would pull it off … but we wanna know what all those late-night rendezvous with Mindfreak Criss Angel were all about, since he was nowhere to be seen! Ah well, she still totally made an impact!
"We know you’re screaming gimme more, more, more Brit right about now … and we’re right there with ya'll! Check out Brit’s big comeback performance … What do you think? Did she pull it off? We wanna know what you have to say!"
Admittedly, MTV makes a few nods in their description to the idea that Britney's performance may have left something to be desired, but elected not to include any 'embed' code so that other sites can post the video. However, Manjoo found the embed code hiding in MTV's source code, and posted instructions on how to embed the Britney video from MTV's servers, finally allowing people to find the video without clicking on MTV's Google Ad Word -- ultimately saving Viacom money.
Why? Ironically, as Manjoo points out, Viacom would rather pay Google for the video than accept money from Google/YouTube for the video, which so many people are trying to view that "britney spears vma video" was one of the most popular search terms on Google yesterday. Can it really be worth that much to MTV to frame the Britney debate with their own description?
Shaggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!
