To get Targetted Traffic
If you are looking for targetted traffic then it would be better to make searches at the geo-targetted search engine . By that i mean using images.google.co.uk instead of images.google.com for searches to increase precision if you want uk based traffic .

Why do your site gets hit by traffic
Typically when people search for images , your site also gets included in the listings for those higher ranking images . So you get some traffic when people click on these images , to get bigger size images or content related to it .

Results
Get about 30-100 uniques per image per day depending upon the image and popularity .
Traffic is almost permanent , it might reduce some days but never stops .
Please make sure you have enabled image indexing by going google.com/sitemaps , adding your site and enabling to index images .
Try to use those keywords which actually do get searched at "Google Images" . For example who really searches for " WebMaster Forum " at Google Images , just try using something else .
