Sean Kingston "Beautiful Girls" Rapidshare Music Video MV/試聴 視聴 mp3 PV 動画 映画 歌詞/뮤직 비디오/동영상

Rating - rating

The Bottom Line

It's a slice of reggae-pop minimalism for summer 2007. Kingston's debut single welds a simple lyric onto heavily sampled instrumental tracks from Ben E. King's classic "Stand By Me." Sean Kingston's somewhat unpolished nasally vocals could wear thin quickly or "Beautiful Girls" may be just what you need for a singalong with the top down on the convertible on the way to the beach. I'm giving the teenager the benefit of the doubt and leaning to the latter category.

Pros
  • Breezy summer reggae fun
  • Makes the word "suicidal" work in a pop song
Cons
  • Kingston's vocals may wear thin quickly

Description

  • Kicks off with the unforgettable instrumental intro to Ben E. King's "Stand By Me" in the background
  • Sean Kingston disses mean, beautiful girls in a reggae chatting style
  • Bright, sunny, summer sound

Guide Review - Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls

17-year-old Jamaican-born Sean Kingston has a strong music pedigree. His uncle is reggae artist Buju Banton, and his grandfather was a reggae producer. "Beautiful Girls" is reminiscent of Akon's helium-voiced reworking of Bobby Vinton's "Mr. Lonely" 2 years ago that landed him in the pop mainstream with the top 5 hit "Lonely." Instead of borrowing from Bobby Vinton, Sean Kingston takes the work of another early rock icon, Ben E. King, and sculpts the instrumental track for "Beautiful Girls" by borrowing heavily from "Stand By Me."

This is the first time in my recollection that the word "suicidal" has been put so obviously front and center in a mainstream pop song. It works here, and it doesn't seem nearly as startling as it might have if Rihanna had not equated cheating on a lover with murder on her hit "Unfaithful." Those "beautiful girls" can be rough on a guy's ego!

The melody of "Stand By Me" is indeed classic, and Sean Kingston has an appealing, fresh-faced approach. You just might find yourself singing "su-i-cidal" all summer long.

Sean Kingston "Me Love" Rapidshare Music Video MV|뮤직 비디오|동영상|試聴 視聴 mp3 PV 動画 映画 歌詞

Teen sensation Sean Kingston delivers another clear cut hit on the new single, Me Love, a follow-up to the smash record Beautiful Girls. After originally planning for a late summer/early fall release, Sean’s self-titled debut (formerly titled Musical Youth) has been bumped up by the his label (Epic) to July 31st; a rarity for a recording industry fond of pushing back titles. Produced by the same man, Jonathan “J.R.” Rotem, who signed him to a deal, Me Love samples Led Zeppelin’s D’yer Mak’er and has the same beat pattern as the famous UB40 cover of Red, Red Wine. With one summer hit in his back pocket, does this give him number two?

The Bottom Line

"D'Yer Mak'er" has always been one of those Led Zeppelin songs that would make casual rock fans sit up and say "Really, that's Led Zeppelin?" The pseudo reggae style of the song just seems too light to fit the heavy rock image of the group. Consequently, some Zep fans have always looked at the song with disdain. Now, 24 years after its first release on the album Houses of the Holy, rising teen star Sean Kingston puts the "D'Yer Mak'er" hook in possibly its proper place, as the irresistible hook for a sunny reggae-pop song.
Pros

* Brilliant use of hook from Led Zeppelin classic "D'Yer Mak'er"
* Sunny end to summer 2007

Cons

* No obvious problems here

Description

* Kicks off with the irresistible hook
* Sunsplashed light reggae backing
* Lyrics lamenting a love lost

Guide Review - Sean Kingston - Me Love

For those who are old enough to have been rock fans in the early 1970's, the opening hook for Sean Kingston's second smash hit single will be instantly familiar. It is also the hook for the top 20 US pop hit single "D'Yer Mak'er" by the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin. If you are among those fans who have always been confused by the song's title, it is intended to be pronounced with a British accent as "Jah-may-kah," perfect for the song's faux reggae approach.

The use of "D'Yer Mak'er" in "Me Love" is possibly even more irresistible to a pop fan's ears than the use of "Stand By Me" as backing for "Beautiful Girls." The song is a lament for a lover leaving, but the poppy reggae beat is so sunny, that it's impossible to be brought down by Sean Kingston's feelings of "drowning in the ocean." This music was made for enjoying those last steamy August days of summer at the beach or by the pool.

With this instant hit, Sean Kingston is making a strong bid for being the hottest new artist of 2007. He initially attempted to make an impact performing from the dark side of rap. However, his true nature seems to be as a pop-reggae romantic smiling even as he's done wrong by another would-be girlfriend.

Sean Kingston "Sean Kingston" Rapidshare Album

Sean Kingston is the self-titled debut album of your boy set to released on July 31st so BUY, BUY, BUY please. The album features guest appearances by Paula DeAnda, Vybez Kartel and Kardinal Official (people say I look like him, lol). Now, as far as production went your boy Jonathan Rotem aka JR took it upon himself to produce on this project while Sean Kingston wrote the entire album. He is “the package” as far as I’m concerned; great singer, rapper and songwriter whose rise to fame began with a little invention called MySpace. Now, known for deftly switching between an Urban-American dialect and a Jamaican patois in his music - Sean Kingston creates this genuine sound that immegiately draws you in. This is the case with his latest LP, you know? At first, I thought his whole theme was “hopeless romantic” but not at all! I think the album doesn’t vary, nor disappoints, and is very diverse on subjects. I still can’t believe he’s a peer of mine and he made it so big. I feel proud that he’s from Miami and reppin’ to the fullest! I wish him all the success, he deserves it, after listening to that album - I sort of step into his shoes for a minute. If you want to know my personal, personal opinion … I would definitely recommend this as a good buy. You will not regret it, seriously.

Let’s go over this again…Sean Kingston did NOT get the Notorious B.I.G. gig

Notorious B.I.G.
its weird, all day I’ve been seeing news stories, even from credible sources, congratulating Sean Kingston for bagging that Notorious BIG role in the upcoming “Notorious” biopic.

Did it even sound believable when it came out of Sean’s mouth? Nobody had the slightest inclination to double check, even if only because you hoped it wasnt true?

Well, anyways, lets try this one more time…..with an news official statement from Ms. Voletta Wallace and Wayne Barrow, executive producers of “Notorious.”(big up to Complex Magazine’s blog site for notice the previous post where I broke the news that Sean was….dead wrong, lol)

“As Producers of the biopic, “Notorious”, we felt compelled to quell the various False media reports indicating Sean Kingston has landed the coveted role of portraying “The Notorious B.I.G” in the upcoming film.

The role for B.I.G is 100% open and we are diligently searching for the individual to seize the moment and fill those Giant shoes of Greatness, everyone is being considered, including Sean Kingston but noone has been chosen.

R U B.I.G?! , if so:
Log on to: biggiecasting.com, follow the instructions and upload your video for our review and consideration..”

Sean Kingston Lands Notorious B.I.G. Role In New Movie 'Notorious'

Sean Kingston Notorious B.I.G.

R&B singer Sean Kingston has been cast to play slain Hip-Hop icon Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace in an upcoming biopic about the rapper's rise to fame and his violent death.

Kingston, who is enjoying the success of his massive hit single "Beautiful Girls," beat out hundreds of hopefuls who hoped to land a role in Notorious, which is being executive produced by Sean "Diddy" Combs.

"When I first heard about that movie, it was through management," Kingston said. "My management told me about it and, you know, I had auditioned for it and I met with the director and I nailed it and he gave me a shot now at being in the movie."

Kingston's "Beautiful Girls" has been the #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 for the past four weeks.

The 17-year-old singer stated that he has taken acting lessons in the past.

"I went to acting school when I was younger," Kingston said. "I want to get into every aspect of the business and see where it takes me. I'm grateful for the fact that my music is able to bridge genres - I'm ready to do that will any business opportunity that comes my way - it's always been important to for me not to limit myself."

Producers for Notorious include B.I.G.'s mother Voletta Wallace and his former managers Mark Pitts and Wayne Barrow, while George Tillman will direct the film, which was written by journalists Cheo Hodari Coker and Reggie Rock Bythewood.

Christopher "Notorious B.I.G." Wallace was shot and killed in on March 9, 1997 in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles, just six months after rap rival Tupac Shakur was cut down in hail of bullets in Las Vegas.

Both murders remains unsolved.
