Melanie C "Carolyna" Rapidshare Music Video+review+lyrics

WITH no major label left even willing to risk a few quid on Melanie C's recording career, it's really a wonder she bothers, let alone that she's bothered to set up her own label to flog her dead horse.

Carolyna is, at least different to her last release - a cringeworthy version of The Strangeloves' 1965 juddering classic, I Want Candy.

Oddly, the intro implies Red Hot Chili Peppers-lite, but Carolyna quickly reveals its true colours, morphing into an X Factor-worthy rousing pop track.

At its best, it's inoffensive candyfloss, at its worst it's a forgettable dirge that offers no respite from Melanie's dreadful, nasally whine or Avile Lavigne-esque teen tale about how it's what's on the inside that matters.

Urgh.
