Scouting For Girls "She's So Lovely" Rapidshare Music Video&lyrics
As for She's So Lovely, there's no denying that it is well executed pop song. It's got guitars on it too, which for the younger pop fan means that Scouting For Girls can claim to be a bit Indie too.
In reality She's So Lovely is a song that finds a meeting point between Squeeze, Busted and The Beatles, and a catchy little number it is too. In terms of lyrics however, you would be hard pushed to find a more benign song this year. It starts with vocalist Roy Stride off stating that the girl he likes looks like someone in Vogue (are you stretching the truth Roy? Sure it's not Practical Caravanning?). Then he claims she makes him drool. Having no control over your saliva is bound to bag you the girl of your dreams Roy, although frankly you sound like a bit of a freak. There's some throw away carry-on stuff about how girls get dirty at thirty in there as well. It's like feminism never happened or if it did it was all about bras. Tee-Hee!!.
Worse than all these crimes against lyricism (and this is a band that claims to be influenced by Thomas Hardy; excuse me whilst I control my giggles); banging on about how lovely a girl is just sounds plain wrong. This song is little more than an insincere "love" note written in pink felt tip passed around a classroom. It is more sick making than eating a bag of sick. Someone check out this band's hard drive please.
